Choosing a university can be daunting, there are two major decisions that neeed to be made simultaneously: location and program.
Australia's unique setting
As an English-speaking nation in the Asia-Pacific region, Australia is the ideal study location for students looking to internationalise their education. Opportunities abound to develop competence in another culture and study with a truly diverse mix of local and international students. IFSA-Butler students have learned from professors from around the world who have also been attracted to these innovative campuses.
All the Australian universities on the IFSA-Butler program are publicly funded institutions, more similar to British universities than American colleges. The tradition of academic rigour is well maintained in Australian universities and combined with innovative teaching and learning practices.

Study opportunities
Cosmopolitan cities, an ancient indigenous heritage and stunning natural landscapes provide an incredible context in which to study abroad. Study in your major, but with an Australian perspective: a refreshing twist to the familiar. Whatever your major, you are sure to find an Australian university that will engage you and add real value to your future career.
Consider your electives: take a class in an Australian university that you could never take at home. Make the most of the large range of courses on offer in this unique cultural setting and expand your academic horizons.
IFSA-Butler has long-established relationships with 17 universities in Australia. You should look first at which program offers the classes you are passionate about and then decide whether the regional environment or size of the university suits you.
Support and advice
Semester-length students study full-time (equivalent of 15-16 US semester credit hours); immersing you in the Australian university system. In conjunction with home institutions, IFSA-Butler works to advise you on how Australian classes can earn the right credit for your degree.
Dedicated Program Coordinators in our Indianapolis office work closely with students and provide invaluable pre-departure advice. Once in Australia, on-site Student Services Coordinators are here to assist you, put you in touch with faculty advisors and advise on the impact of academic differences between Australia and the US.
Transcripts
IFSA-Butler takes the hassle out of translating credit and provides this as a service to its students. Program participants are issued with two Butler University transcripts in U.S. format: one sent to your home institution and the other to your home address.
